PHOTOGRAPHIC DAY & MEMORIAL LECTURE

This years Photographic day and Memorial Lecture will be hosted by the Long Eaton Camera Club and promises to be a very enjoyable day for all those that attend. There are three visits available during the afternoon (details below) followed by the Memorial Lecture "An Evening with Colin Gibson FRPS".
Please note that the visit to Trent Lock and surrounding area will be limited to 12 people. This is due to the nature of the area.
The cost for the day is £2.50 per person payable with your Booking Form Return.
An extra charge of £5.00 per person/£3.00 senior person is payable for the visit to Donington Collection.
All Club members are entitled to attend the Memorial Lecture free of charge but please complete part “E” and return to the organiser to book your seat(s).
Booking forms are available to the Club Secretaries and should be submitted via them.

Details of the visits
VISIT A - Attenborough Nature Reserve.
The centre is a great place for a fun day out getting close to nature. The Centre is a focal point of a wonderful Nature Reserve and is only 7km (4.3 miles) from the centre of Nottingham.
Around the well-marked footpaths around the Reserve you will discover a huge diversity of wildlife including flocks of migratory birds, both summer and winter, butterflies, wild flowers and insects.
A guide from the Reserve will lead the party
VISIT B - Trent Lock and surrounding area.
Approximate distance to be covered 2 to 3 miles according to needs.
Itinerary includes River Trent, Erewash Canal, houseboats, including a two-storey version, long boats, a boat yard, locks, swans, Canada geese, ducks, Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station, the splendid railway bridge over the river with its High Speed and Meridian passenger trains and goods trains, distinctive water-side buildings, including the sailing club on ‘stilts’ and above all, people at leisure. The opportunities for photographs are legion.
Participants are asked to take great care. There are well-maintained paths, but water must always be respected.
A local historian and author will lead the party
VISIT C - Donington Collection.
Donington Collection the world’s largest collection of Grand Prix cars covering 80 years of motor sport history. This collection contains some of the greatest racing cars from both pre and post war eras including Mercedes, Alfa Romeo and recent Formula 1 cars. Photography is allowed in the Museum and tripods are allowed but must be used with consideration for other visitors to the Museum.
