This is now the 18th event of this kind, but the writing on the wall about the future is getting bigger and bigger – there will be long debates this year so watch out for news on the website and in the Newsletter as to what the future will be. However this event was still for those little 2”x2” thingies which you just shine a light through and everybody can see them on a screen – although I am certain that a large proportion of those that we saw had had been nowhere near the camera that actually took the image.
After the 2007 event had 12 competitors, I was very pleased to have 11 again this year as I know very well the difficulties of getting enough slides together.
With the judges Margaret & John Sixsmith and Ray Brammell in position round 1 started - 8 slides nominated in advance.

So congratulations to Worksop and Beeston who will represent N&EMPF at Warwick this year, both of them have been before – Beeston 3 times and Worksop a tremendous 7 times since 2001 – so they both know what the opposition is like. I will be there to see what happens – will you?
At the end all the slides having scored 13 or 14 were judged on a lightbox to produce the Best Slide which went to “Cock Crested Lark with Prey” by Gerald Hall of Worksop
It only remains to thank the judges and the team who did all the work – Chris Forster, Neil Malton, Peter Cheetham, Dave Gibbins and Dave Severn.
