ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2008
EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHY 2008 EASTWOOD
We have posted a list of the winners here and you can see a gallery of the winning images here and you can see the winners recieving their awards here.
This year the Exhibition returned to Durban House, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, the Official opening and projected image show was Saturday 5th January and was on display for four weeks until 2nd February 2008. It was well worth a visit but you have missed it now so shame on you. Make a note in your diary for next year when we return to Mansfield
This Exhibition reached a landmark in more ways than one. Firstly, the total number of images submitted was in excess of 2500 by 284 authors from 37 clubs. More authors took part than at any time since 1989. It is also the first exhibition with a significant number of digital images.
The entries were varied, some excellent, others not so good. In prints, it would have been possible to select a very good exhibition using those just short of the mark. The projected images were down on slides and as expected up on digital, although slides did out number them; just.
During the selection weekend, Selectors and helpers did sterling work to get through the large entry.
Projected images go to all but a couple of clubs within the Federation, detail of which is included in the Catalogue. Clubs should have an enjoyable full evening and everyone should attend. It may give inspiration for 2009. We will add a selection of the winning images to the website galleries so check back here in a few weeks when we have managed to get them scanned and copied. We are also hoping to produce a AV presentation for inclusion on the web, similar to the CD version that circulates to the clubs but just the highlights
