Judge's Assessment Form (Feedback About a Judge by a Club)
Judge feedback by clubs is extremely valuable to us so please complete this form to send us your feedback about every N&EMPF judge who judges at your club. Ideally, we recommend that you base your feedback on the views of 2 or 3 experienced people who can provide objective and thoughtful comments.
Zoom is most commonly used by clubs but Zoom or Hybrid should be selected even where an alternative was used.

    ABOUT THE JUDGE

    THE JUDGING PROCESS

Please assess the following skills and knowledge.
    Communication and critiquing skills
A good judge is positive and constructive and speaks confidently using a variety of clear and expressive language.
Competition entrants should feel recognised and encouraged.
Comments and marks should be consistent and pace of delivery appropriate.
    Photographic understanding
A good judge demonstrates sound knowledge and appreciation of all aspects of camera craft and technical skill, including the editing process.
They may make constructive suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
    Aesthetic understanding
A good judge should have the ability to appreciate images for more than merely the techniques involved.
They should demonstrate an appreciation of empathy, creativity and artistic intent where appropriate.
They should also demonstrate an appreciation of the role that impact, interest, visual awareness and communication play in the photography presented.

Please give an overall comment noting any strengths and possible areas for improvement.
Respectful, constructive comments are always appreciated in assisting us in the development of our judging process.
