N&EMPF Inter-Club PDI Championship Results

Congratulations to this year's winners of the Davis Trophy, for the tenth time in a row, Rolls-Royce Derby Photographic Society.

Nottingham & Notts Photographic Society and Deepings Camera Club qualified to represent N&EMPF at the PAGB Championships at Warwick.

They join Rolls-Royce Derby Photographic Society who have already been invited to participate due to their final position in last year's event.

Congratulations to this year's winners of the Davis Trophy, Rolls-Royce Derby PS.

Beeston CC and Synergy qualified to represent N&EMPF at the PAGB Championships at Warwick in July 2023. They join Rolls-Royce Derby PS and Nottingham & Notts PS, both of which had already been invited to participate due their final positions in last year's event.

N&EMPF Inter-Club PDI Championship 2023

After two years of CFH (Competing from Home) we now feel that we able to compete in person, we hope that you agree with this decision and look forward to seeing you all again.

The purpose of the competition is two fold – to find the Champion N&EMPF Club, and the two clubs to represent the federation in the PAGB National PDI Championships at Warwick University on 15th July.

The competition will be held at Arnold Leisure Centre, on Sunday 5th March, starting at 1.45pm and there will be an admission charge of £3 to cover expenses.

The AGM is at the same venue in the morning and admission to that is, of course, free.

PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championship 2022

This Open competition is held each July and each federation nominates 2 clubs to take part alongside the finalists from the previous year. This year it was judged with an audience of about 200.

The judges were:

Helen Hanafin FIPF EFIAP/g (EAF),
Roger Hance FRPS DPAGB AFIAP BPE5* (L&CPU), and
Nick Hilton DPAGB EFIAP/b BPE5* (IPF)

There were 35 clubs taking part—the 3 who represented N&EMPF this year were Bolsover CC, Nottingham and Notts PS, and Rolls-Royce Derby PS.

After the qualifying rounds Bolsover CC were in 15th position, while Nottingham and Notts PS were 6th and Rolls-Royce Derby PS were 2nd—taking both of them into the final round which, including ties for 8th place, featured10 clubs.

Rolls-Royce Derby PS went on to gain equal 1st place in the final round, tied with Wigan 10 Foto Club, 9 points ahead of Nottingham and Notts PS who took 3rd place. Bolsover CC came 8th in the plate competition, a credible 18th overall.

N&EMPF Inter-Club PDI Championship 2022

Many thanks to all of the clubs who entered this PDI competition. It was held on Zoom this year and the three judges were Barbara Jenkins, Roy Lambeth and Clive Tanner.

Congratulations to Rolls-Royce Derby PS who took first place, Nottingham and Notts in second place and Bolsover CC third.

Inter-Club PDI Championship 2022 Results

PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championship 2021

This Open competition is held each July and each federation each nominates 2 clubs to take part alongside the finalists from the previous year. This year it was online judging with an audience of over 200. The judges were Marilyn Roberts DPAGB BPE3, Gabriel O'Shaunessy FIFP MFIAP EFIAP/g and Leo Rich ARPS DPAGB EFIAP/G HonPAGB.

There were 37 clubs taking part and the 3 clubs who represented N&EMPF this year were Deepings CC, Newark & District PS and Rolls Royce Derby PS and they all did really well. After the qualifying rounds Newark & District were in 10th position, Deepings CC were 17th and Rolls Royce Derby PS in 1st place - taking them into the final round of 8 clubs.

Rolls Royce Derby PS then went on to gain the 1st place in the final round, winning by 7 points, a remarkable achievement and the only time that a N&EMPF club has done this.

Congratulations to all three clubs and to David Keep who won the Gold Medal for the best image in the competition with 'Reverse Pike'.
