Our judge this year was Tony Collinson DPAGB LRPS. Tony had judged previously and his excellent comments were much appreciated by everyone.
The winner of the Narrative section and the Audience Vote was Keith Brown,of Castleton and Hope Valley PS, with his sequence “Now and Then”. This started with a background of how the latest Beatles song “Now and Then” was produced and then an interpretation of the song using images taken by his father-in-law combined with more recent images. It was a very powerful interpretation. Our judge Tony Collinson states “This sequence has it all. A storyline developing into a personal reflection using a particular song.” Keith Brown also won the Music, Poetry and Song section for his interpretation of the Ralph McTell song “England”. This was a combined effort with his wife Kate. Kate had started it and Keith completed it.
Our judge this year was Jeff Mansell CPAGB/AV, whose excellent comments helped make it an enjoyable day.
The winner of the narrative section this year was David Cudworth, Rolls-Royce Derby PS, with his intriguing sequence “The Bessie Stone” about the murder of a young girl in 1817.
