It is with great sadness that we have to report that David Hollingsworth passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 28th June 2026.

He served as Chairman of Arnold & District Camera Club for nearly 25 years and his passion for photography and the photographic community touched countless lives. David's contribution over so many years cannot be overstated, he will be greatly missed.

​Any club which had David booked to Judge for the 2026/27 season, please inform your Competition Secretary.

This is open to any member of N&EMPF who is interested in becoming a N&EMPF judge, it is also open to any of our existing judges to get involved in a refresher day.

The day is free and will run from 10.00am to 4.30pm. Please bring your own lunch, tea and coffees will be provided during the day.

Last year N&EMPF conducted a survey of clubs to find out what you wanted the Federation to prioritise and invited club reps to make suggestions for improvements in the service. 
 
Unsurprisingly, one of the most common requests was for a good supply of high quality judges. The need for higher calibre judges is understandable and your Federation has spent the last year developing  a number of initiatives to meet that requirement. 
 
In particular we have: 

• Run a New Judge Induction Day and recruited and trained 5 new judges. 
• Run a Judges Conference to consult with judges on proposed judging developments and listen to their views. This included a talk on Judging Nature Images by Bill Hall DPAGB EFIAP FBPE. 
• Developed a personal development pathway to help judges strengthen their individual skills and  enhance their enjoyment of their role. 
• Developed new communication channels for our judge community with an information Newsletter and a private Facebook group to follow soon. 
• Updated the N&EMPF website to reflect these changes. 

 
We are now about to embark on this new personal development scheme for judges and we need your help.
