The government has announced an increase in the car mileage rate to 55p/mile backdated to April 2026. The rate had been 45p/mile since 2011. The PAGB has therefore increased its maximum mileage rate to 55p/mile. For Clubs, the increase is just over 20%. For comparison, the CPI and RPI increases since 2011 are about 50% and 75% respectively. See more details on the Speakers page.
55p/mile is not the cost of running any particular car: it is a compromise rate which HMRC will accept as expenses regardless of the actual car used. PAGB uses this maximum rate as a protection for listed speakers and also to provide some certainty to Clubs when planning their programmes. Congratulations to the following successful applicants in the APM Adjudication on the 25th/26th of April 2026.

When it comes to the FIAP World Cup for Clubs, Rolls-Royce Derby Photographic Society has an exceptional record of achievement:
In this year's competition, Rolls Royce Derby Photographic Society has joined a truly elite group: double World Champions. Competing against hundreds of clubs from around the world, the society impressed international judges with a bold and compelling portfolio of images. This remarkable achievement places British amateur photography firmly in the global spotlight and marks a proud moment not only for Rolls-Royce members, but for our entire Federation. People often ask what the club's 'secret' is. According to Chairman David Cudworth, the answer is simple: teamwork. "Our most advanced members can only create world‑beating images because everyone in the club is constantly raising the bar. Each of our members contributes to the standard of photography we're known for. Every one of them has played a part in this world‑beating achievement. This World Cup win is a victory for Team Rolls Royce, and it truly belongs to what is a talented group of photographers and friends." |
